Warehouses
Warehouses are storage points within a node.[1][2][3][4]
- Warehouses may enable a player to transfer non-material goods between alts. This excludes resources, materials or anything that relies on the caravan system.[2]
- Players are prohibited from moving goods out of depositories within a node following a siege declaration against that node.[5][6][4]
- 玩家攤檔 are linked to that player's warehouse.[7]
- A portion of all Materials (crafting components) and Gatherables that were stored in successfully sieged nodes become lootable to the victors of the siege as spoils of war.[3][4][8]
- Whole items (crafted items) are not vulnerable to loss during node sieges.[7]
- Corrupt players may not store items in public warehouses.[9]
- Personal caravans may be launched from any point of storage (including warehouses).[10]

Storage
Storage points exist at warehouses within nodes and in chests (storage containers) that can be placed in freeholds and static in-node housing.[1][12]
Player housing storage
Chests are a type of furniture that provides localized storage within a specific house.[14][15][16]
- Players must obtain and place storage containers in their player-owned housing.[15]
- Different grades of storage containers have different inventory capacities.[15]
- There are restrictions on the grades of storage containers available in different types of houses.[15]
- Access permissions can be set to allow others to access a player's personal storage devices.[14][17][18][19]
- Personal storage chests may be set to permit access by family or guild members.[18][20]
- Transfer of resources and materials to alts will only be possible via player housing storage, as this is local to the specific house.[14]
- Players are prohibited from moving goods out of depositories within a node following a siege declaration against that node.[4]
- Gatherables and processed goods that were stored in in-node housing and apartment storage chests become lootable upon a successful siege against the parent node. These do not become lootable if the node survives the siege- even if the housing buildings are destroyed or damaged during the siege.[3]
- Corrupt players are able to utilize private storage in their 個人土地房.[9]
- Personal caravans may be launched from any point of storage (including chests).[10]

The economy is usually something that happens in the background of other games. From day one we knew that the economy was going to be something really important to us.[22] – Jeffrey Bard
市场 in Ashes of Creation are regional, which means that each market has its own character. Because resources will shift locations as they’re exhausted, this will keep people moving about the world, seeking out the best resources for their crafting builds, and the best markets for their goods.[23]
- There will be no central auction house or warehouse.[23]
- Auction houses in up to two economic metropolises (including their vassal nodes) can be linked with the linked economy superpower.[24]
- There will be item decay (material sinks), deconstruction mechanics and other gold sinks to combat inflation.[25][26]
- The developers are considering the use of adaptive price points in merchant shops based on the amount of gold being generated or sunk in the economy.[25]
- There will be player to player trading.[27][28]
One major feature in our economy that differs from most fantasy style MMOs is that we're not approaching it from a global scale. Rather, we're trying to carve the world up into regions and make each one focus independently, while of course at the same time working together.[29] – Peter Pilone
The economy present in Alpha-1 is not reflective of the final state of the game.[30]
Banking
Nodes advance to the first stage quickly. This enables NPC services such as vending or banking items.[31]
- Banking between characters will likely be restricted to Furniture and completed items.[19]
- A warehouse ability may enable a player to transfer non-material goods between alternate characters. This excludes resources, materials or anything that relies on the caravan system.[2]
Mailing items
- Raw gatherables and materials are not able to be mailed by players.[32][33][34]
- Purchases of anything other than materials and gatherables from integrated auction houses will be mailed to the purchaser.[35]
- Social messages sent via mail will be received instantly.[32]
- It hasn't been decided whether crafted items such as gear will be able to be sent via mail.[32]
- From an item standpoint obviously we can't allow mailing to include any type of resource material or raw gatherable because those are central to the gameplay and transiting through the caravan system and economic regions. But it may be possible to send completed crafted items like you know gear, equipment, stuff like that. But it's something we're still discussing.[32] – Steven Sharif
Player inventory
Personal inventory limits[37][38] are tied to a backpack.[39] Material and gatherable items are subject to quantity rather than weight limits.[40] 商隊 and 骡子 are intended to be the primary mode of transportation of goods beyond these limits.[41][42]
- 骡子 can carry roughly 10 times more than backpacks. Caravans can carry roughly 10 times more than mules.[43]
- 商隊 will have carrying capacity limits and customizable stats, such as defensive points, speed and number of hired NPC 守衛.[44]
- In my opinion, and this is of course subjective, but weight management is not a compelling mechanic for players to have to deal with in an MMO setting.[40] – Steven Sharif
库存 capacity has quantity (stacking) limits based on the type of item.[40][41] For example: The stacking limit of potions might be one hundred. The stacking limit of food items might be 999 or 1000.[41]
- A player's inventory has sections for different types of items.[47] Quest items for example will not fill a player's regular inventory capacity.[45]
- Inventory capacity will be relatively limited for new characters.[45]
- Players will have the ability to search for items they have stored in various locations (such as personal storage and node warehouses).[48]
- We want you to know where the things are; and then the meaningful aspect of that thing is traveling to those locations to access some of those things, particularly as it relates to materials and raw gatherables.[48] – Steven Sharif
- 库存 expansion and weight management training certificates are available in the Galleria at City stage economic nodes.[45][49]
Backpacks
A backpack is an item crafted by artisans that provides personal inventory space.[39]
- The higher level the backpack, the greater the inventory space.[39]
- Different backpack types cater to different activities.[39]
- Gatherer's backpacks are intended to carry gatherables.[39]
- Adventurer's backpacks are intended to carry consumables and items.[39]
In order to roleplay you need to be able to represent kind of what your character is doing in that world and you know part of what animation is doing is creating these sockets on the let's say the belt or the backpack that you know can plug in certain types of props or items that are created by the character team.[50] – Steven Sharif
骡子
骡子 are mounts that assist in the transport of goods, resources, and gatherables to increase a player's carrying capacity.[52] Mules transport goods on a much smaller scale than the caravan system.[53]
商隊
